The idea of a Troll in Årjäng originally came from a youth committee called Start - 68. A well-known singer in Sweden had composed a song called Årjängtroll in 1971, and so the idea was born for a troll with tourist information in its belly and a tray in its hands to be used as an entertainment scene in summer. The troll is 8 m high and its feet measure 3.5 m.
